Gary’s Perspective; Make Love Not War

To truly understand Google for me it is a matter of perspective.

SEO Tips and Tricks Make Love Not War

Make Love Not War

So much of life is about a fight.

Fighting for this and fighting for that.

Online many things I read would have us approach Google as though it is your enemy and you must overcome it by beating it at its own game.

Much like the words of the very late Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun Tzu; from The Art of War,

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.”

“If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat.”

“If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

SEO Tips and Tricks Make Love Not War

My perspective, however, is not to wage war against Google, always trying to beat it and all the others using it in your niche for that coveted 1st-page placement.

My perspective is the reverse, my mindset is to appreciate the enormity of the task Google has simply met its own mission cited below.

My approach is to learn as much as I possibly can, about what will please Google and assist it with completing its mission.

I almost view it from a romantical dating perspective, trying to constantly please this Google entity as though I was trying to make love to it. I’m OK honestly, happily married the whole 9 yards but I must admit this mindset has helped me.SEO Tips and Tricks Make Love Not War

You see, I being a bit older grew up remembering a silly line from an old TV show I rarely missed called The Andy Griffith Show.

Where Andy advised Barney that “You Catch More Flies with Honey than You Do with Vinegar.”

I thought about things long and hard before I decided that one of the 1st places I was going to look was to the very source itself, Google’s own About Page.

Immediately you see their Mission: “Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.”

SEO Tips and Tricks Make Love Not War

For me, I knew instantly what I must do.

If I was ever going to get to home plate with Google I needed to help it fulfill its mission, then and only then would I be rewarded.

I knew I would have to reverse engineer a bit to find out exactly what it would take for me to truly please Google.

I know this may sound farfetched but I decided to go straight to the source once again for my information;

I asked Google directly how my business could get to page 1 so all the world may find me.

I must confess that was in fact not my exact wording, regardless I am sure you get my point.

Content is King; SEO is its Queen

SEO Tips and Tricks Make Love Not War

As you read SEO Tips and Tricks Make Love Not War I hope you are seeing that SEO or Search Engine Optimization after pertinent, good quality content is the key to any successful online business’ success.

Without properly performed and implemented SEO your business will, in fact, be “Winking in the Dark”, you will be the only one that will know what you are doing.

Proper SEO will bring you out of the dark and put you into the position of helping folks in whatever niche you lay claim to.

In its simplest form SEO is a required “Science” if you will, for lack of a better term, to work with the complex coded algorithms that allow Google, Bing, Yahoo & all the other search engines to keep the Trillions of Documents available on the web organized.

Keywords especially Long Tail Keywords is one aspect of SEO optimization we will be covering right away because it is critical to get your mind thinking successfully.

You can find many keyword tools out there, many are Free, some offer a Free Trial so you may see if the features they offer are worth paying for.

Some Great Free KeyWord Tools are:

WordStreamÜbersuggest, and Wordtracker

Some of the Paid Keyword Tools are:

Moz Free 30 Day Trial, Advanced Web Ranking

In a special category, all it’s own is the SEO Long Tail Keyword Tool that I prefer, called Jaaxy.

After you have tried some searches from the above keyword tools, get 30 Free Searches with Jaaxy above.

What makes Jaaxy so different from all the other tools out there for me are a few things. Some technical some just the way I like to work.

I guess the one thing that pushes Jaaxy over the top for me is a feature I have not seen on any other keyword tool out there. It is a critical feature as well. I am talking about the QSR (Quoted Search Results) or competition feature that really sets it apart;

As you can see in this Long Tail Keyword example pictured below, of “the best keywords for blog-marketing” the results are showing first the

Avg (# of Searches/month)

Traffic (Shows average you expect/month provided you have 1st-page placement)

*QSR (Quoted Search Results or Competition)

KQI (Keyword Quality Indicator) Green is Awesome Yellow may be OK & Red.  SEO (Score based on traffic & competition 100 is best)

Domains (Searches availability of Domain names with Keywords in them).

There are also a lot of other great features like the Alphabet Soup which mimics Übersuggest and its approach.

Brainstorm covers mainly the current HOT Topics online and in Social Media, but it also does bring up suggestions for what keyword you are working on.

Search Analysis allows you to check with Google, Bing or Yahoo and Site Rank lets you know in real time where your website is positioned with the keywords you have working so you may track changes and make improvements.

Jaaxy also offers some training and an Affiliate Program should you see and wish to share the value in their marvelous product.SEO Tips and Tricks Make Love Not War

My website has grown significantly thanks to Jaaxy, it is now my only keyword research tool.

I would love to share a Free taste with you, go ahead have 30 Free Jaaxy Searches on me;

It turns out that before you even start writing the information you wish to share if you hope to gain great SERP (Search Engines Results Page) you should be thinking about making Google happy.

By this, I mean that as you prepare your research information for your topic try to think about some basics like your post/page Title.

Just like for that 1st date you may have had your hair done or some other special things you did to look your best, you want to put your best foot forward with Google much in the same fashion.

You want to make sure that you effectively communicate the topic of your page’s contents.

Always avoid anything unrelated, vague or default title names like “Untitled” etc.

Next as you are writing you will want to be thinking about catchy title tags, personally, I do all my writing on my PC but I am constantly jotting down related items to be used solely to further work with Google.

According to Google, 1st it is the Main Title then title tags, when doing so bear in mind that  Google wants to make sure you create brief, yet descriptive titles without “stuffing unneeded keywords” into the title tags.

The next most important thing to keep Google happy is to make sure that you have made good use of the “descriptionMeta tag.

This description Meta tag gives Google & the other search engines a summary of what the page is about.

So where the page title may just be a few words or phrase your Meta Description Tag can be a sentence or two.

 Meta Description Tags

The description Meta Tag is looked at next by Google’s Bots when reviewing your site if it is unable to match your sites content to a query. This is an example using Brandon’s Baseball Cards of the meta that was entered manually.

SEO Tips and Tricks Make Love Not War

The Meta Tag effectively provides a brief description of what your post or page is about.

Meta Description Tags are important because Google is quite likely to use them in the snippets it returns when searches are performed in the various search engines like this. Notice that the words in Bold are the words typed in the search that appear in the document proving validity.

SEO Tips and Tricks Make Love Not War

I look at Meta Description Tags as my Google wish list because sometimes Google chooses to take content from your work, rather than the Meta Tags you created if it matches a persons’ query.

Google also sometimes falls back to The Open Directory Project for information which you may opt out of if you would like.

Gary- Awesome site, professionally done and full of information we all can use- well done! I looked over most of the site and read your reviews on the various scams out there-thanks for that, however this page “SEO Tips, Tricks and Gary’s Perspective #1” is awesome and I will review it in detail- I know I have to give myself time but like you say “Keywords especially Long Tail Keywords is one aspect of SEO optimization we will be covering right away because it is critical to get your mind thinking successfully.” is what I need to continue to improve on- I do not have Jaaxy as yet but will soon. Great site and very well done- I will be back often for more information.

    All the best-Tom

For any successful mindset to be complete it must be fed “Good” information, to get to fruition
with any sort of online presence.

    Hi Gary,

I really enjoyed reading your SEO tips and found them a good reminder to myself.

I couldn’t agree more that we need to learn what Google likes and avoid doing what they don’t like. They aren’t the enemy at all in my opinion. Without them organizing search results, it’d be impossible to find anything relevant to whatever we’re searching for on the internet.

As long as we remember to be informative and helpful along with good keyword research and using them properly we’ll get to that first page of Google. It may take effort and time to learn and do all these things, but anything worthwhile does.

Great job on the post here, and I’ll be coming back to read some more soon. Best wishes and keep up the great work! -Sherry

      Hi Sherry,

Thank you so much for the kind words. I have found many people talk
about beating Google with this trick and that trying for the best page rankings.

As is the case with most things in life, education is the key. By effectively learning and
understanding what things are important to Google to find for people making search requests
      is paramount.

If you do not understand the basics of SEO it will be quite difficult to ever be recognized despite
all your efforts. Yes it is true even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally, but that is not the way
I run my business or teach others.

Google is pretty amazing when you think about what it does, I have always preferred being part of the
solution as opposed to the problem, which is why I try my best to teach and share.

Thanks again Sherry for stopping by and reading and I am pleased you gain some insight.
My best to your continued success,

      Gary

When I 1st started I will admit I used a lot of the Free keyword tools, they helped me a lot but soon I found out I really
